Casting Application

We are searching for sets of neighbors to redesign and decorate one room in each other’s homes, places of business, or any other unique locations.

You’ll work with our team of expert designers and carpenters to create a new space for your neighbors to enjoy!

Relatives, best friends, coworkers – all pairs are encouraged to apply if you are on the same block or street.

Casting Requirements*

Participants (Neighbors) must submit 2 pairs (teams) that wish to trade spaces.
All participants must be over 18 years of age at time of submission.
Participants must have a room they are willing to have renovated/decorated at the discretion of the designer assigned to their space.
Participants must have authority of the location they wish to trade.*
Teams must be located no further than 1/4 mile from one another, with preference to those that are next door to one another.
Neighbors must have a preexisting relationship with the team they wish to trade spaces with.
If selected for the show, a background check will be required.

*Renters or Leasees will be considered upon Landlord explicit approval.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS *

By checking this box I confirm that I agree, represent, and warrant that I have read, understand and will comply with all of the following eligibility requirements of “Trading Spaces” (the “Program”) in order to proceed with the application process. The following eligibility requirements MUST be met in order to proceed with the application process: I. You must be 18 years of age (or the age of majority in the state in which you reside) or older; II. You must be a legal resident of the United States; III. You may not be a candidate for public office and must agree not to become a candidate for public office until one (1) year after the initial broadcast of the last episode of the Program in which you appear, if selected as a contestant; IV. You must timely complete and return this agreement and any other agreement and/or document furnished to you by the producers and/or network as required in their sole discretion; V. You must be willing to participate in interviews with the producers via Skype; VI. You must inform the producers if you have been convicted of a felony and you do not have any felony or misdemeanor criminal charges pending against you; VII. You shall voluntarily submit to a background check and/or medical testing, including without limitation psychological testing, if and as requested by the producers (and agree to execute all consents, authorizations, and releases in connection therewith); VIII. You will need to be available during the production dates as determined by the producers in their sole discretion, as well as any promotional appearances required by the producers and/or the network, and be willing to travel to one or more locations designated by the producer. You will need to keep producer reasonably apprised of any conflicts that arise between your schedule and the production or promotional schedule. IV. You may not be a contestant on the Program if your participation would create impropriety or the appearance of impropriety. In making this determination, the producers and the network may consider whether you or any of your immediate family members or anyone living in your household may be or have been within the past two (2) years employees, contractors, officers, directors, representatives or agents of any of the following: (a) Authentic Entertainment, LLC, Discovery Communications, LLC or any of the direct or indirect parents, subsidiaries, or affiliated or related entities of any of the foregoing; (b) any person or entity involved in the development, production, distribution or other exploitation of the Program or any variation thereof; (c) any known major sponsor of the Program or its advertising agency; (d) any host or any entity substantially owned or controlled by any host; or (e) any person or entity supplying services or prizes to the Program. In addition, the producers reserve the right to render ineligible any person who the producers determine, in their sole discretion, is sufficiently connected with the production, administration or distribution of the Program such that his or her participation in the Program could create the appearance of impropriety. Conversely, the producers and/or the network have the sole discretion to allow any person to remain part of the Program who may be acquainted with a person or entity connected with the production and/or administration of the Program if, in the producers and/or the network’s sole discretion, the producers and/or the network determine that such person’s involvement in the Program does not and will not affect the integrity of the Program. The foregoing eligibility requirements are subject to change as determined by the producers.

I represent and warrant that I am at least 18 years of age and have the right to enter into this Agreement. I have read and understood the Agreement, and I understand that by filling in my name below, I agree to be legally bound to the terms of this Agreement.

AUDITION APPLICATION *

By submitting this application, I hereby consent to the recording, photographing, filming, use and reuse by Authentic Entertainment, LLC and Discovery Communications, LLC and their respective their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees, successors and assigns (collectively, “Producers”) of my voice, actions, likeness, name, appearance, biographical material, and any information contained in, derived from or obtained in connection with my application to be a participant in “Trading Spaces” (the “Program”) or in any materials submitted by me in connection with my application (collectively “Likeness”), as edited, altered, or modified by the Producer, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, worldwide in perpetuity, in or in connection with the Program or any other work. I agree that the Producer may use all or any part of my Likeness, and may alter or modify it regardless of whether or not I am recognizable. I further agree that the Producer exclusively own all right, title, and interest (including, without limitation, all copyrights) in and to any and all recordings made by them and in and to any and all video that I have provided in connection with my application and any other materials that I have provided or may provide in connection with my application or the Program (collectively, the “Materials”), including, without limitation, the right to edit, alter or modify the Materials and to use all or part of the Materials and my Likeness in any and all media now known or hereafter devised worldwide, in perpetuity. Without in any way limiting the foregoing, if I perform or include any music (other than music supplied to me by the Producer) in connection with my application or the Program, I represent and warrant that I own all rights to such music, and I grant the Producer the right to record, reproduce and publicly perform any such music in and in connection with the Program or any other work. Without in any way limiting the waivers and releases set forth herein, I waive any claims to royalties of any kind, whether accruing now or in the future, from the Producer for the use of any such music, including, without limitation, any applicable copyright, public performance, mechanical and synchronization royalties. I further agree that the Producer may use my Likeness and the Materials in connection with any promotion, publicity, marketing or advertisement. I hereby waive any moral rights and any right of inspection or approval of my appearance or the uses to which such appearance may be put. I further represent that any statements made by me during my appearance are true, to the best of my knowledge, and that neither they nor my appearance will violate or infringe upon the rights of any third party. I acknowledge that you will rely on this permission potentially, at substantial cost to you and hereby agree not to assert any claim of any nature whatsoever against anyone relating to the exercise of the permissions granted hereunder. I grant the rights hereunder whether or not I am selected to participate in the Program in any manner whatsoever. I understand that I will not be paid any money for giving the Producers these rights or for signing this application.
